Ben Carson - Pastor

Ben is passionate about meeting new people and hearing their stories. He also tries to lend a voice to those who are unable to speak for themselves, and seeks to share the love of God with everyone! Ben is an avid sports fan (Go Wolfpack!) and enjoys playing all kinds of sports and activities. He prefers to spend as much time outdoors as possible, and loves hiking, camping, biking and backpacking. Ben has a degree in Business Management from N.C. State and a MDIV from Asbury Theological Seminary. Ben originally hails from Rutherfordton, NC, a place that most consider "small town friendly."
Ben and his wife Jenny were blessed with a son, Malachi, in November of 2011. They are excited to be living in the "high country" and to call FaithBridge home. You can follow Ben's adventures through life and ministry through his blog at www.parsoncarson.wordpress.com
Kyle Sigmon - Worship/Music Director and Youth Minister

Kyle is a local boy. He graduated from Hardin Park Elementary in 1999, Watauga High in 2003, and then Appalachian State in December of 2006. He majored in Philosophy and Religion and minored in music with guitar. He married his high school crush in December of 2006 and together they now have a son named Jacob and a daughter named Jenna. Kyle enjoys long walks on the beach, good conversation, and relaxing with his friends and family.
Ashley Payne Cook - Children's Minister

Ashley Payne Cook became FaithBridge UMC's part-time Children's Minister in February 2011. She is co-owner of Appalachian Rhythm Cloggers and has been clogging and dancing for almost 20 years. She graduated in December 2009 from Appalachian State University with degrees in Advertising and Dance. She is certified in Classical Pilates and is a Certified Clogging Instructor. Ashley married Daniel Cook in 2009 and they had their first child, Stella Cook, in December 2010.
Susan Stutts - Director of Casting Bread Food Pantry

Susan grew up alongside her two brothers in Statesville, NC and graduated from North Iredell High School. She then went on to receive her Associates degree at Mitchell Community College in Statesville. After that, she studied business at Appalachian State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. Susan married her college sweetheart, Mark, and went on the have three boys, Alex, Will, and Walker. Alex is a senior at Appalachian State majoring in Graphic Design. Will is a freshman at Caldwell Community College with hopes of receiving his degree in Green Construction. Walker is a junior at Watauga High School and loves to skateboard and hang out at Kyle’s with the youth of Faithbridge. Susan very much enjoys spending time with her family and extended family alike. She enjoys cooking, road trips, and crafting. Susan especially feels comfortable in the food pantry where she, along with volunteers, is in the business of helping those in need.
Laura Kaufman - Office and Volunteer Coordinator

Laura grew up in Vilas, graduating from Watauga High School in 2004. She studied music at UNC-Greensboro and graduated with degrees in Music Education and Flute Performance in 2008. She has recently returned to the area with her husband, Kenny, and daughter, Kayden, who was born in February of 2011. Laura loves to spend time with her family and two dogs, Elsie and Freddy.
